This diamond being the oldest one on record misses things by a few hundred years, at least... The British Museum has several diamonds, set in finger rings, in it's collection which have been dated to the 3rd century AD. - It turns out its history was mostly fabricated, by Pierre Cartier, around 1910. He did the same thing with the Hope Diamond, which he also owned at about the same time. See Ian Balfour's "Famous Diamonds". --24.20.167.224 (talk) 19:31, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
